Dragonball - Vehicles

Welcome to the Vehicles section, where I will discuss several vehicles in Dragonball and Dragonball Z. These are put in order, going in this order: DBZ series, DBZ TV Special, then DBZ movies. Each vehicle listing will include a picture of the vehicle, its name, and a summarized description.

Kinto'Un
Kinto'Un
In Dragonball, Kinto'Un is given to Goku by Kame Sen'nin because Goku helped Umigame (the sea turtle) to get to the ocean. Umigame had wondered off in the wrong direction and ended up where Bulma and Goku where staying the night. Goku also saved Umigame from a very large creature who wanted to eat him. When Kame Sen'nin was told of this, he summoned Kinto'Un, telling Goku that only the pure of heart can ride it. Goku is pure of heart so he was able to ride on it and not fall through. Goku uses Kinto'Un for traveling purposes. It is used rarely after the Namek Saga begins.

Farmer's Truck

Farmer's Truck

Used by the farmer guy at the very beginning or Dragonball Z, this vehicle has a bumpy ride and an unreliable suspension. Also has a small cargo bay on the back and a two-seated cockpit. This vehicle was destroyed by Raditz when he punched his fist through it to pick it up and get to Gohan. Afterwards, he blew it to pieces.

Capsule Copter

Capsule Copter

This is first used by Bulma to get to Roshi's Island. I think this transforms into the Capsule Jet. Otherwise, not much is said about this vehicle. The Capsule Jet is used more often. The Capsule used for this is Capsule #87.

Capsule Jet
Capsule Jet
This is used on Earth during the saiyajin saga. Bulma, Roshi, and Kuririn use this to get to where Piccolo and Goku fought Raditz. They get there in time to be with Goku when he dies from having sacrificed himself to take out Raditz. This vehicle is also used to pick up the remaining Z-fighters from the battle with Nappa and Vegeta. Karin, Bulma, Kuririn, Roshi, Yajirobei, and Chichi ride this to help their friends. They pick up their dead friends and load their corpses into this vehicle and also take Goku, Kuririn, and Gohan to the hospital. The Capsule used for this is Capsule #103.

Ogre's Escort Car

Ogre's Escort Car

This car is used by the ogre guy at Enma Daio's check-in station to take Goku to Snake Way. The top opens up to let passengers out. The car seems pretty sturdy and must offer a smooth ride because Goku sleeps in it (then again, he can sleep through anything!).

Snake Way Street Cleaner

Snake Way Street Cleaner

This is used to pave the road of snake way. Goku hitches a ride on this, but falls off into hell on the way to Kaio-sama's. This vehicle also falls off the road several times as Goku flies by it.

Saiyajin Space Pod
Saiyajin Space Pod
Saiyajin pods are used by the saiyajin to go from one place to the other. These space pods are also used by the elite Ginyu Force, but differ from normal saiyajin pods by the Ginyu symbol on the doors. They travels at somewhat of a fast speed and land by crashing into the ground. Requiring nothing more than a click of a button, these vehicles are pretty reliable and sturdy, considering the fact they can blast right through meteors and the manner in which they land. Each also includes an image projector, intercom system, and computer.

The Big Bugs

The Big Bugs

These are big bugs that the Arlians use to get to Nappa and Vegeta (shortly after they land). Nappa and Vegeta surrender to have fun. The Arlians also use these to take Nappa and Vegeta to their king.

Go-Carts

Go-Carts

These were used for a brief period of time by Goku and the Orange, Runner Ogre. These are used when Goku was trying to catch the fast ogre so that he'd be told how to return to Snake Way. Goku jumps from his go-car to catch the ogre, who immediately jumps away from Goku and begins running again.

Gohan's Sailraft

Gohan's Sailraft

Gohan builds this in order to sail away from the place where Piccolo took him to train. Gohan successfully sails across the desert and onto the shore of an ocean. He then heads across the ocean toward his house, to see his mother again. On the way, he wakes up in a storm and desperately tries to bail out the incoming water. However, the storm is so violent that he and this vehiclet are swept into the ocean.
