DBZ Chapter 41: The Last Heartbeat

As Yajirobei sees Goku getting crushed, he decides there's nothing he can do. Gohan spots Goku and Kuririn tells Gohan to get down and hide. They fly down and run toward where Vegeta is, until Yajirobei scares the crap out of them by jumping out in front of them. Kuririn tells him that they have to cut off Vegeta's tail. Kuririn orders Gohan and Yajirobei to attack Vegeta from the front so he can use his kienzan to cut off Vegeta's tail. Gohan jumps out in front of Vegeta and Kuririn throws a kienzan at Vegeta, who jumps over it, surprising them both. Vegeta explains that he knew that they'd never let a companion come by himself, so someone else had to be somewhere. Then, Vegeta resumes crushing Goku with his hands and they both yell at Vegeta until, out of nowhere, Yajirobei slices off Vegeta's tail and runs away. Vegeta drops Goku, angry that he didn't count on there being a third one.
DBZ Chapter 42: Least Resistance

Vegeta looks around angrily and yells that they will all die. He flies up to Gohan and hits him in the stomach. Then, he goes to elbow Gohan, but senses Kuririn. He turns around and kicks Kuririn away, saying he guesses Kuririn wanted to be first. Then, he bends down and picks Gohan up, head-butting him. He tells Gohan he'll be kind and allow him to die next to Goku. After Gohan is tossed down, Goku tells Gohan he can't fight anymore, so Gohan'll have to fight for now. Vegeta decides he will kill Kakkarot and his son first, followed by Kuririn and "whoever cut off his tail." Goku tells Gohan that he just has to hold Vegeta off until Kuririn can finish Vegeta off. Then, Vegeta jumps down as Goku yells for Gohan not to be a coward. Then, Goku is kneed in the chest by Vegeta, who begins to kick Goku repeatedly. Then, Gohan gets up and fires a blast at Vegeta, who dodges it. As they begin to fight, Kuririn is summoned by Goku, who tells him he will give him what's left of his genki-dama.
DBZ Chapter 42: Once More... the Sphere!

As Gohan and Vegeta continue to fight, Goku transfers the energy from what's left of his genki-dama to Kuririn. Then, Kuririn follows Goku's orders and forms it into a ball. After Kuririn hops onto the top of a rock pillar, Vegeta and Gohan continue to fight where it looks as if Vegeta isn't losing at all. As Kuririn stands up there, Kaio-sama tells him he needs to feel Vegeta's "evil chi" and throw. Vegeta starts to fire rapid blasts at Gohan, who is knocked into a rock pillar. As Kuririn tries to feel out Vegeta's evil chi, Vegeta races at Gohan to kiil him. When Kuririn is finally able to feel Vegeta's evil chi, Yajirobei jumps out and yells at Kuririn to throw it. This alertins Vegeta, angering Kuririn. After Kuririn throws the genki-dama, Vegeta sees it and jumps over it.
DBZ Chapter 43: The Hopes of a Planet

Goku contacts Gohan through telepathy, telling him he can bounce it back since he doesn't have any evil chi (I know ki is the right word, but Viz insists upon using chi). Sure enough, Gohan is able to rebound the genki-dama, right into Vegeta. The genki-dama engulfs Vegeta and sends him screaming into the sky. Everybody becomes happy and cheers. Later, Kuririn and Gohan are sitting next to Goku, when they spot Vegeta's body land back on the ground. Kuririn walks up to Vegeta and decides to "atleast give him a burial." Then, Vegeta's eye pops open and he asks, "For yourselves?!" No one can believe that Vegeta's back and Vegeta tells them they gave him quite a beating, but he still has enough strength to win. He hits Kuririn away and tells them after he takes time to heal, he'll destroy Earth.
DBZ Chapter 44: The Worn-Out Warriors

Vegeta charges up and fires a blast all around him. When the smoke clears, he wonders what's wrong with them, "because they all should've been dead." He flies to Gohan and is astonished to see that Gohan's tail has grown back (Kuririn looks down, saying that Goku's used to grow back when he was young also). Vegeta goes to blast Gohan before he can transform, but he turns around with his mouth hanging open as Yajirobei soars at him with a sword. Yajirobei makes a direct hit on Vegeta's back, sending them both falling the the ground. Yajirobei gets up laughing that he killed Vegeta, but Vegeta gets back up cursing Yajirobei. Yajirobei begins to frantically attack Vegeta with his sword, but Vegeta blocks every attack, until Yajirobei tells Vegeta that he was just joking around. Vegeta angrily kicks Yajirobei in the face, followed by another punch to the face. Then, he walks back to Gohan as Goku yells for Gohan to look at the ball in the sky. Vegeta tries to finish off Gohan before he can transform, but he's too late.
DBZ Chapter 45: Monkey in the Moon

Vegeta hits Gohan repeatedly in the upper torso, then he attempts to rip off his tail. But the almost-transformed Gohan punches Vegeta in the head. Kuririn wonders if Gohan will be like Goku when he transformed, losing the reason why he changed. Gohan starts to punch rock pillars, and Kuririn yells that Gohan's the same. Kuririn yells for Gohan to "go for the saiyajin" and Gohan goes to throw a giant boulder at Vegeta but stops... until Goku yells for him to attack Vegeta. Vegeta dodges the boulder and tosses an energy disc at Gohan, cutting off his tail. Unfortunately, Vegeta is unable to move as Gohan lands right on top of him. A few seconds later, Vegeta reaches inside of his armor and takes out a remote, pressing buttons, and dropping it. Kuririn wonders if anything can kill Vegeta. Where the city used to be, there are now several people in suits investigating the saiyajin space pods. Vegeta's takes off and Vegeta is angry that he has never had to retreat before.
