"State of the Dimension Address: Year 3"
Written: August 4, 2002

Subarashii! It's good to see that this site has been around for three years now! Not much has changed from the last year but there are many new things to discuss.

First of all, let's see how well my plans in the 2nd Dimension Address turned out. I did add new sections: Majin Buu, Japanese Vocabulary, and Funny Quotes, but that was not the section I was referring to. I may add this unique section within the year, but there are no guarantees. I didn't update the Reviews or Vehicles sections' content like I originally planned but their organization has been improved. I sort of redesigned the site, if you have been visiting here for at least a year you'll know what I'm talking about. It seems like that's about it for now... the rest of that editorial addressed the distant future.

Okay then, let's take a look at what was accomplished this year. I finished summarizing the rest of the Majin Buu episodes, so I was very pleased with the episode summaries updates. I also added more sections than I thought I would and seriously cut down on the size and bandwith that this site takes up. I didn't get to update much at all in college, but during the winter and summer breaks I managed to put up a TON of new content. At least unemployment produces lots of free time...

As almost all of you know, bandwith became a serious issue for this site (especially when my daily hits doubled). I'm still working on this problem. I'm thinking of moving to Tripod or something to get almost double the bandwith that I get here (1GB, as opposed to 600MB per month). Even though this place gives 150 MB of space it's not like you can use it, since the bandwith limit is so low and the maximum size per file is 900 KB. So hopefully I'll get around to moving sometime this month.

As for the future of this site... As long as I can get free hosting or tons of cash to pay for good hosting this site should be around. Once again, I don't think I'm going to get to update much this schoolyear, but we'll see what happens. I don't see multimedia coming back anytime in the near future unless I get paid hosting. This month I plan on cutting down some more on un-needed bandwith by making visitors click on links to view pictures, cutting down on images, and/or shrinking images down in size. I'm really hoping on converting this site into an all-anime website. When I do, it'll most definitely start with the Reviews section. I still have a few more ideas for new sections that I might use. I also really need to get caught up on Manga Summaries.

The Dragonball Community has taken a serious, life-threatening blow this year with the death of some very popular sites: Ginga GIRI GIRI and Planet Namek springing to mind. Luckily, the community is still alive thanks to the Ultimate DBZ Information Site, Temple 'O Trunks, the promise of Daizenshuu EX's rebirth, and other great sites listed in my Links section. Let's hope this is the bottom of the hill for the community's existance and it'll go uphill as the previously lesser-known Dragonball sites take the place of the retirees.

It's been great serving you these three years. Let's hope there are many more years to come.
