"My Theories on Dragonball Webmasters"
Written: January 7, 2000

In this editorial, I will tell some of my theories on Dragonball Webmasters and why we do what we do. Keep in mind when I say webmasters I basically mean site owners. Okay, let's get started.

As we all know, there are littarly thousands (maybe even hundreds of thousands) of Dragonball webpages out there. I would think Japan and North America would make up a majority of these, but I may be wrong. I have visited many, many Dragonball pages and the best I've come across will most likely be in the Links section. Some offer just about everything, while some offer multimedia and others comedy and essays. As time has gone by, VegettoEX and DBZ Uncensored excelled in the written category... especially DBZ Uncensored. Vegeta Insane has ruled the Comedy category, while Planet Namek is slaughtering everyone with its massive multimedia, loads of miscellaneous information, and incredible amounts of popularity.

Okay, I'm done introducing a few things, now I will start with the main subject of this editorial: Why we do what we do. As most of you know, page pirates definitely make up a majority of the thousands of Dragonball sites. This is sad... very sad. And then there are flamers. These two categories of people are what discourage and anger us webmasters. VegettoEX and Castor Troy of Vegeta Insane have nice mailbag sections, where they give us a taste of just how stupid these people can be. Luckily, I haven't been bothered much, with the exception of that moron with the horrible page that signed my guestbook a while ago. Anyway, these people just need to shut the f*$# up or go do us all a favor and kill themselves. Luckily, flaming seems to be at an all time low on Castor's site (atleast for now). His guestbook has been pretty positive lately and he is getting alot of anti-flamer mail posted in his mailbag (which is good, flamers need to be dissed).

Anyway, most flamers and page pirates seem to make claims and statements that they just can't back up. Every other word they say is a cuss word and their grammar and spelling are usually terrible. This indicates their brain mass, which can explain why they do what they do. What I don't understand is WHY DO PEOPLE MAKE PAGES WITH NOTHING ON THEM BUT COPIED OR STOLEN MATERIAL?!?!? WHY?!!! I just don't understand... first of all if all of your material is copied or stolen, you will NEVER receive more than or near as many as us honest-working, original webmasters. Why in god's name do these people make pages? What are they after? Fame? Bah, it'll never happen, not with the plagerizing sites I've seen. Money? FAT CHANCE. Respect? Not with stolen material, never with stolen material. I have ALL ORIGINAL material and I'm still not that popular...

Well, now that I've settled that Page Pirates have no reason to exist, let's move on to what they've done to use webmasters. The Ultimate DBZ Information Site had to shut down his guestbooks because of some flamers. Morons diss VegettoEX and Castor Troy daily. Planet Namek was having extreme problems with their message board, so they had to get a completely new one with moderators. Page pirates and flamers give us a hard time, most likely because they're jealous or complete morons. If they'd just die and get out of our way, we could be so much more productive and enthusiastic about updating our websites. But, they NEVER WILL go away... ever. For every good Dragonball webmaster there are thirty or more page pirates. Unfortunately, all we can do is create mailbag sections and humiliate them in front of thousands of people.

So why do we do what we do? To spread the magic of Dragonball around? Mostly, yes. Also, we have a love for Dragonball, a love that causes us to want to share it with anyone who doesn't have Dragonball or who hasn't seen the wonderful Japanese version. We provide just about everything you can imagine to spread the greatness of Akira Toriyama's masterpiece. We provide everywhere from information to comedy to multimedia. The best sites out there are popular, original, and provide more than enough for Dragonball fans to quench their thirsts. We do it all for free and out of our own time, spending hours upon hours upon hours working on our pages. And for what? Disrespect? Mail bombs? Messages saying nothing except, "You suk."??

Luckily, not all of the people we meet during our years of work are morons. We are able to meet new people who share our interest, making friends... and enemies. If only the morons who flame us would realize how much we work on our sites and how much we treasure our work. Every good site differs in design, depending on the creators' tastes. We work extra hard on our sites to make them extra satisfying to its visitors. Our websites are our creations, and we treasure them. And yet we still receive emails and IM's dissing us and mocking us, saying we're "gay" or "suck."

So what keeps us going? Why don't these people put our work to an end? Because we will continue and we will not give up because of disrespectful letters from some little kids with IQ's of 5. We won't give up what we've worked on so long, it would only satisfy those morons. "But what if you get nothing but disrespectful letters?" You ask? Well, it's those positive letters and comments that keep us going. All of us love to hear nice comments from you guys. You'd have no idea how much it pleases us. When we start to feel a little down and read one of those letters from someone saying, "Your site rules! I love your site!" it brings us back up again. We can never get enough positive feedback; there is never too much. Its those people and those emails that keep us going.

So, if you like a site, just make sure you email its owner and tell them how much you appreciated what they've done. You'd have no idea how much it means to them unless you were one yourself.

Thanks for reading, this is only a small portion of how I feel about this subject, I've tried to sum up my thoughts the best I could. Long live Dragonball!
