Episode 79: Power of the Spirit
Air Date: October 15, 1999 @ 5PM Eastern
Japanese Episode: 94 - Air Date: June 5, 1991

As Goku continues to charge up the super genki-dama (spirit bomb), Pccolo attempts to stall Freeza with a suicidal defense. None of his blasts have an effect on Freeza, who appears behind Piccolo, squeezes his shoulder, and hits him in the back of the neck. On Kaio's planet, the fight between Chaozu, Tenshinhan, and Yamcha versus the Ginyu Force begins. At first it looks as if the good guys are losing, until the tide turns when Yamcha hits Recoom. They realize the Ginyu Force are weaker than they thought. Piccolo continues to stall Freeza but is defeated. Freeza starts to finish off Piccolo with a singe blast, until he is stopped by blasts from Gohan and Krillin. Angered, Freeza attempts to finish everyone, including Namek, off with a black ball of energy that he begins to charge up. Goku is finally finished with the super genki-dama and brings it down toward Freeza, whose blast is easily dissipated in it. Freeza tries to block it, but is slowly sent into the ground, no matter how hard he tries to push the super genki-dama away. At last, the ball sends Freeza into the ground and explodes, blowing everyone in multiple directions.

Episode 80: Transformed at Last
Air Date: October 18, 1999 @ 5PM Eastern
Japanese Episode: 95 - Air Date: June 12, 1991

Krillin, Piccolo, Goku, and Gohan reunite happily when they think it's over and Freeza is defeated. On Kaio's planet, Tenshinhan hits Baata and Jeice into hell, followed by Yamcha sending Recoom, and Chaozu sending Gurudo. The Ginyu Force attempt to escape, but slam into the wall of clouds above hell, and are sent back into the red pool when Gurudo slams into them. To everyone's surprise, Freeza is still alive and is standing on a rock mound above Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, and Krillin. First, he shoots a blast through Piccolo, angering Goku. Then, he uses telekenisis to push Krillin up into the air and explode from the inside out (like how Kuwi died), even though Goku pleads for him to stop. Goku orders Gohan to take Bulma and Piccolo and leave him and Freeza on Namek. After Krillin dies, he gets very, very angry and turns Super Saiyajin for the first time, surprising everyone. He orders Gohan to leave again and turns to Freeza with a homicidal look in his eyes.

Episode 81: Explosion of Anger
Air Date: October 19, 1999 @ 5PM Eastern
Japanese Episode: 96 - Air Date: June 19, 1991

Goku tells Gohan to leave once again, and Gohan eventually consents and takes off, holding Piccolo. Freeza attempts to finish off Piccolo and Gohan with a blast, but Goku quickly appears in front of him and angrily grabs his arm, sending Freeza on his knees in pain. Eventually, Freeza escapes Goku's grasp, amazed at Goku's incredible increase in power. Back at Earth, Master Roshi is able to feel Goku's new strength and realizes Goku can't be what he used to be for long with his new, overwhelming increase in power. Goku begins to easily win in the fight against Freeza. Freeza laughs at Goku for saying he is evil. He laughs that he stopped the saiyajins' evil ways, but Goku is saying that he's the evil one. He tries to escape Goku through smoke, but Goku easily stops him. Freeza now gives all he has in his blasts, but Goku either dodges or easily blocks them. Gohan struggles to not look back as he flies to Goku's spaceship and is happy that his father is a legendary super saiyajin.
