Episode 73: Clash of the Superpowers
Air Date: October 7, 1999 @ 5PM Eastern
Japanese Episode: 88 - Air Date: March 24, 1991

During the battle between Goku and Freeza, Goku realizes Freeza cannot sense anyone's prescense. He creates two decoy blasts underwater and holds them there until he has swam a distance away from them. When he feels he's far enough from them, he launches them at Freeza and as Freeza dodges them, Goku flies up behind him and delivers a few blows which do not seriously hurt Freeza at all. Freeza takes a giant load of land out of Namek and hurls it at Goku. Goku stands there and attempts to block it, being pushed back into a rock-mountain. When it looks as if he's been smashed, a crevasse is blown open in the rock and Goku flies out. Freeza traps Goku in some kind of energy ball, causing Goku to not be able to move. Freeza hits him around a little and tells Goku if anything other than he [Freeza] touches it, it will explode. Then Freeza hits around Goku some more and sends him into the ground, creating an explosion. Gohan gets blown away but Piccolo catches him. In the aftermath, Goku and Freeza are still fine and we learn that they are still conserving alot of their power.

Episode 74: Frieza's Boast
Air Date: October 8, 1999 @ 5PM Eastern
Japanese Episode: 89 - Air Date: May 1, 1991

Piccolo knows the outcome of this battle determines the outcome of the universe. Goku and Freeza decide to fight on the ground. Freeza tells Goku he'll still easily beat him without using his hands. Goku starts off the fight and lunges at Freeza. Meanwhile, Dr. Briefs charges up the Capsule Space Ship and Chichi yells for him to hurry up so she can save Gohan and Dr. Brief's daughter, Bulma. We see Oolong, Yajirobei, and Pu'ar packing up for the trip to Namek. On Namek, Goku dodges Freeza's kicks and Freeeza starts to beat up Goku with his tail. When Freeza throws Goku to the ground using his tail, Goku grabs Freeza's tail and throws him to the ground. Goku grabs Freeza's tail again and spins him around, throwing him away. Meanwhile, we learn Bulma has made friends with the smart frog, Captain Ginyu (but she doesn't know it's him). She talks to and feeds Ginyu, eventually building a translator device. After she ties it to Ginyu, he is able to switch bodies with Bulma. When he gets up (in Bulma's body), he rubs his chest (gee, I wonder why) and laughs at Bulma, who is now in the frog's body (he takes off the translator device too). Back at the battlefield, Freeza strangles Goku with his tail and Goku bites it, which I just knew he was going to do.

Episode 75: Bold and Fearless
Air Date: October 11, 1999 @ 5PM Eastern
Japanese Episode: 90 - Air Date: May 8, 1991

After Goku refuses to join Freeza, Freeza says Goku still has 5 times his current power left, 6 at most. He then says he's [Freeza] only used 1% of his power and will now charge up to 50%. Ginyu (in Bulma's body) rides the capsule motorcycle to the battlefield, not knowing Bulma (in the frog's body) is riding too. She jumps on Ginyu's face, causing them to crash right next to Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin. Ginyu (in Bulma's body) flies out of the wreck and does a pose in front of them. During the battle between Goku and Freeza, Ginyu (in Bulma's body) is cheering on Freeza, angering Piccolo and confusing Gohan and Krillin, with Bulma (in the frog's body) trying to tell Gohan that that's not Bulma. Freeza, now at 50% of his max power, now easily beats up on Goku. Meanwhile, on Earth, Chichi, Master Roshi, Oolong, Pu'ar, and Yajirobei start to take off. But, the ship breaks down and once again they're stuck on Earth. As Freeza continues to trash Goku, we learn from Kaio that he has been using the Kaioken attack the whole time (according to the Toriyama database, he was using a Kaioken x10). At the end of the episode, Krillin, Piccolo, and Gohan figure out that Bulma isn't Bulma after all.
