Episode 38: A Collision Course

(*Peter Kelamis replaces Ian Corlett starting with this episode*) In the beginning of this episode, Goku is still training under 20 times gravity until he hears beeping. It is Dr. Briefs who tells him he needs to fix up a small break on the outside of the spaceship. Goku gets into a spacesuit and patches the break up. After Dr. Briefs tells Goku the break caused the spaceship to go off orbit and into a huge star. Goku realizes he is stuck in the glue he just used on the ship. He starts to fly into the star, but does a Kaioken times 10 (which is a mistake in the Japanese version, he used a kamehameha both times, notice when he kaiokened there was no red glow!) and is pushed away from the star, only to be pulled back by its gravity. He successfully gets away from the star by doing a Kaioken times 20. Meanwhile, Vegeta finds a village that Freeza has not attacked yet and kills every Namek there, eventually finding the dragonball and tossing it in a lake for safe-keeping. In Bulma's capsule house located in a cave, Dende explains that the Nameks once had a violent storm, nearly destroying the planet. He tells that they are planting a special tree to bring back the beauty that Namek once had. Meanwhile, Freeza is growing impatient and tells Zarbon he is heading back to his ship with his five dragonballs.

Episode 39: Stay Away From Freeza

As Goku trains under 20 times earth's gravity, Krillin and Dende head to the eldest Namek for a dragonball. Then, Krillin senses Vegeta and Vegeta senses a small power. Vegeta heads for Krillin and Dende, but Vegeta then senses Zarbon and flies to fight him. Back on Goku's ship, Kaio contacts him and informs that Tenshinhan, Yamcha, Chaozu and Piccolo have arrived for his training. After Goku tells Kaio about the power higher than Vegeta's on Namek, Kaio tries to find out who it is. He uses his antannae to look around on Namek and is shocked to see it's Freeza. Kaio makes Goku and Piccolo "promise" not to go anywhere near Freeza because he is far stronger than Goku or any of his friends. Then, on Kaio's small planet, Kaio tells Tien, Yamcha, Chaozu, and Piccolo that they must make him laugh in order to proceed to the next phase of training. Chaozu and Yamcha do it first and eventually, Tenshinhan does it as well. Goku decides 30 times earth's gravity is still too easy and starts to train under 50 times earth's gravity.

Episode 40: Zarbon Transformed

Kaio tells Tenshinhan, Chaozu, Piccolo, and Yamcha that they must catch Bubbles for their first phase of training to overcome the gravity. Piccolo does it immediately and the others start to try. On Namek, the fight between Zarbon and Vegeta begins. Zarbon is surprised at how much strength Vegeta has obtained lately and he transforms into a bigger monster form so he can win the fight. After he transforms, he easily starts to beat up Vegeta. Meanwhile, Goku starts to rest, while training, and remembers how Kaio yelled at him to not face Freeza. Goku decides he must train even harder and starts to power up. At Kaio's planet, while Piccolo meditates, Tenshinhan, Yamcha, and Chaozu continue to chase Bubbles and are breaking things in pursuit. Vegeta starts to get the crap beat out of him as he fights the transformed Zarbon until he loses by being thrown into the ground making a crater. The wall of the crater breaks and a nearby lake fills it with water. Zarbon then heads back to Freeza's ship to report to Freeza.
